Meet jenn suz hoy:
get to know your freelance designer.

Filled to the brim with (usually) un-caffienated energy, I bring a strong sense of life to every project I take on. With experience in a large variety of business areas in both print and online design and website development, I work tirelessly to provide you with the best possible solution for your needs.

My experience to date is outlined as follows.

jenn suz hoy:
pinciple designer & founder.

Founded in January of 2007, I have worked with clients both in the Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina area, as well as those from my former home in Western Massachusetts. These are listed in date order, and include ongoing contracts and long-term clients I keep up with on a regular basis.

  • ISA—as a contract graphic designer, I work in close contact with the in-house designers and the creative director on new and existing print projects. This contract requires a very keen awareness of a corporate style guide.
  • Mellonaid—a design firm based in Raleigh, NC, I have and continue to work on web development on a project-to-project basis. Development includes the back-end code (XHTML) for the website structure of information, as well as implementing the design with CSS. Recently completecd projects with Mellonaid include websites for Carolina for Kiberia, Infuzion, and UNC Global department.
  • Yardscreen—a small company based in Raleigh, NC, I worked on the redesign of their existing website. This design worked to bring the look of the site up to speed with their current print advertisments while maintaining the feel of their brand materials. I also provided the XHTML back-end code for structure and CSS for design implementation.
  • Kurtz, Inc.—a company of general contractors based in rural western Massachusetts, I was appraoched to redesign their existing site to better reflect a modern approach on their advertising materials previously used. I also provided the back-end XHTML code for the site structure and design implementation in CSS. Basic Flash slideshows were used in this project to help display their expansive portfolio of buildings.
  • PC Productions—an individually-owned DJ service for the Raleigh/Durham, NC area, I was hired to design a website based solely off the existing company logo. I also provided the back-end code (HTML) for the site structure and CSS for design implementation.

eWeb Designs:
in-house website designer & developer.

As the project manager for one of the company's most consistent clients, I worked closely witha large number of new customers during the one-and-a-half years I was with eWeb from September 2005–March 2007. This client required the use of website design templates to be customized for each specific client of his. Smaller projects brought in on occassion allowed the opportunity to provide custom solutions, as well as the need to write original XHTML code for structure and CSS to manage the design.

Diversity Studio, Inc.:
junior graphic designer.

Officially a three-month relationship, I was treated as part of the permanent in-house graphic design team at the eastern Massachusetts design firm from September–December 2004.

Graphic design intern positions:
Baystate Health System & Freestyle Printing & Design.

Each a one-month intensive hands-on learning internship. I was working directly with customers as an in-house graphic designer. Through these internships I gained my first taste of professional graphic design, as well as the complete printing process. This information has helped immensely as I know exactly what it is a printer needs to be provided with to complete a project.
